Thread 'Managing Large Class Sizes: Any Tips or Strategies? Hello, fellow Georgia Tech peeps! I'm reminiscing about my time at the College of Computing today (I'm now wrangling code for start-up in Atlanta, which is an adventure all its own). One thing that comes back to me pretty often is how massive some of our classes were. Now, while large class sizes definitely give you the chance to meet different people, they can sometimes feel like whirlwind of confusion when you're trying to focus on the course material. So, in the spirit of making things easier for future Yellow Jackets, thought we could talk about how we've handled these situations. Anyone got any tips or strategies they found worked well with bigger classes? Know one thing that helped me was creating study groups. Some of us would meet up after class or on weekends to go through lecture materials together. It was great way to bounce off ideas and clarify concepts that might have seemed like trying to decipher an alien language during class. Also, anyone remember Professor X's Discrete Mathematics lectures? Man, those were some tough cookies. But what really helped me was visiting him during office hours. Once got over the initial intimidation (it's always kind of daunting to approach professors one-on-one), it turned out he was super helpful and actually appreciated students taking out time to clarify their doubts!
